Two Billion Dollars Invest In Clean Technology In 2008

Investment in green technologies have reached two billion dollars in the second quarter of this year for companies Cleantech. The most important investments were made in solar-thermal systems and in new technologies for biofuel.

Cleantech announced that investments in clean technologies have increased worldwide, with 58% compared with the same period of last year and with 48% against the first quarter of the year. Previous record was about 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in the third quarter of 2007.

Solar energy has attracted 278 million dollars. The main financiers were BrightSource Energy, Skyfuel, Infinia and Sopogy. U.S. companies have financed 74% of the value of two billion U.S. dollars of investment, and European companies only 13%.
