2.3 million people throughout the world are working, directly or indirectly, in the field of renewable energies, and high salaries are in countries where governments support projects development, is shown in the study of the Worldwatch Institute, quoted by GreenBiz.
The study estimated that there are one million jobs in the biomass and biofuels, 624,000 in solar and thermal energy sector , 300,000 in wind energy sector and 170,000 jobs in the photovoltaic sector. The data are incomplete because the researchers can not look at the traditional statistics to find the number of jobs in the renewable sector.
According to available data, the study showed that Germany has 259,000 jobs in the renewable energy sector, a figure that is estimated that will increase to 500,000 until 2020, Spain has 89,000 jobs directly and 99,000 indirectly, USA had in 2006 200,000 direct jobs and 246,000 indirect.
In the long time is estimated that the number of jobs in the wind sector will rise up until 2030 to 2.1 million, and the solar sector at 6.3 million. Many people will be employed not only in producing wind turbines or solar panels, but also in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment, jobs that will help to increase employment. In Kenya, for example, there are 10 big companies of solar panels and photovoltaic and 1000-2000 technicians.
