The word ecology was always attributed to not too interesting activities, but practical. A good example in this direction being environmentally friendly cars. This changed after the advent of electric sports car Tesla Roadster. Wired magazine has made a top of the fastest environmentally friendly cars:

1. E85 Viper - 220 miles per hour, ethanol supply

2. British Steam Car Challenge Inspiration - 215 miles per hour, steam supply (liquid propane)

3. Ford Fusion Hydrogen 999 - 207.3 miles per hour, hydrogen fuel cell supply

4. Audi R10 TDI - 204.5 miles per hour, biodiesel supply

5. Landspeed Toyota Prius - 130.8 miles per hour, gasoline-electric hybrid engine

6. Tesla Roadster - 130 miles per hour, electric motor

7. NUON Solar Team NUNA4 “- 80 miles per hour, solar power

8. Volvo Aria - 54 miles per hour, only operates in slope, so gravitational supply

9. Venturi Eclectic - 31mile per hour, solar and wind supply
