The Company “Con Edison” Will Use Biofuels And Hybrids

Con Edison, the electricity supplier, it increases the quantity of biofuels for its fleet of trucks and will replace 50 of the small cars with hybrids until the end of the year, according to a company communication. The company announced that it will use biofuel B-20, based on soya for 1,700 trucks from its fleet of 4,150 vehicles, which will result in a saving of 1,500,000 litres of gas per year. Also, company cars that operating diesel will be equipped with filters to reduce emissions.

Con Edison has reduced emissions of greenhouse gas emissions by 17% between 2005 and 2006 and announces that he intends to replace all vehicles with electric vehicles.

Con Edison has been the host of several companies that have proposed to save money for fuel by creating more environmentally friendly auto fleets. Thus, the company Anheuser Busch said he will use biofuel for its auto fleet from Bronx, New York and that he will convert the cars produced between 2002 and 2005 to work on natural gas.
