A man named Mojtaba Navvab, of the University of Michigan Architectural Laboratory is the author of this wonderful environmentally invention. What can be better for an ecological city than getting street lights powered by sun and wind. This great system is erected near the Packard Road entrance to Buhr Park. This was achieved through a collaboration between the city of Ann Arbor which paid to install it and the lab, which designed it. To store energy this invention contains a battery.
In the 2 batteries that this system has, with 70-watt, 24-volt light can store 100 amp hours at 24 volts. It is as bright as a normal streetlight, but more energy-efficient. All that’s needs to be done is to be started at night. For each light pole it costs around $ 1800, so any city who wants such a lighting must find first a sponsor. I hope that every big city from the world to have an ecological enlightenment only through the wind and sun.
